Women's Cross Country Finishes 20th at Regionals

 

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –The Elon women's cross country squad placed 20th in a field of 35 teams at the NCAA Southeast Regional at E.P. "Tom Sawyer" State Park in Louisville. Elon finished ahead of Southern Conference foes Appalachian State, Furman, UNC Greensboro, Western Carolina and Wofford.

 

Emily Fournier led the Phoenix with a 73rd place finish in a field of 237 runners. She posted a time of 22:22.38 on the 6K course. Teammate Caitlin Beeler finished just behind Fournier in the 78th spot with a time of 22:27.52 while Allyson Costa finished 99th with a time of 22:44.97.

 

Sullivan Parkes finished 125th after posting a time of 23:07.25 while fellow freshman Jacqueline Alnes placed 136th with a 23:13.11 time to round out Elon's top-five finishers.

 

Morgan Denecke posted a time of 23:24.85 for a 152nd finish and Lauren Fredrickson placed 160th after recording a time of 23:32.07 for the Phoenix.
