2010 Fall Academic All-Conference
SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Southern Conference today announced its Academic All-Conference team for the 2010 fall season and leading the way with 42 members was the Elon Phoenix program. A total of 345 student-athletes, representing all 12 Southern Conference institutions, were named to the team.
Institutionally, Elon placed 29 student-athletes on the school's President's List and 59 on the Dean's List during the fall. President's List recipients recorded a minimum of 12 semester hours and no grade below an A- during the fall semester. Dean's List honorees posted at least 12 semester hours and no grade below a B- with a semester GPA of at least 3.5 during the fall.
The 345 student-athletes, which participated in football, volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s cross country recorded a 3.56 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Eleven student-athletes have maintained perfect 4.0 cumulative GPAs, including Elon’s #Katelynn O’Dunne#.
To be eligible, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average entering the fall season and were required to compete in at least one-half of their team’s competitions during the recently-concluded fall campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least 24 credit hours in the previous two semesters.
The women’s soccer programs supplied the greatest number of honorees with 85, followed by football and women’s cross country which each had 65 players qualify.
