USTFCCCA Preseason Rankings

NEW ORLEANS – With the 2012 collegiate cross country season beginning this weekend, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released its preseason regional rankings for NCAA’S Division I. The Elon women’s cross country team is ranked 13^th in the Southeast Region, marking the program’s first ever preseason ranking.
 
The Phoenix finished 21^st at the regional championships last year and is the only Southern Conference school to earn a preseason ranking. Last week, the maroon and gold were selected the favorites to win the conference in the SoCon Preseason Poll.
 
USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Rankings are determined subjectively by a single number coach in each respective region.
 
Both the Elon men’s and women’s cross country teams open the season at the Demon Deacon Quad on Friday, August 31, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
