Last season, Elon guard
Tanner Samson set the program's single-season record for three-pointers made in the season after connecting on 103 threes. Samson became the first player in school history to make 100+ threes in a season and only the fourth player in Colonial Athletic Association history to do so. Samson ended the year ranked 10th in the nation in threes made (first in CAA) and sixth in the nation in three-point attempts with 286 (first in CAA).
Entering the 2015-16 season, Samson is tied with former teammate
Sebastian Koch for third all-time in program history in career threes with 242. Samson trails only Chris Kiger (259) and former teammate
Jack Isenbarger (264) on the all-time list.
Samson and Elon head coach
Matt Matheny sat down with Elon Phoenix Weekly to discuss his success from beyond the arc this past season.
