RICHMOND, Va. - Kam Terry, a junior outside hitter on the Elon University volleyball team, was tabbed the CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Sept. 11, after helping the Phoenix to a 4-0 week while outscoring its opponents 12 sets to one.
Terry, the 2017 Phoenix Classic MVP, posted a .323 (50-10-124) hitting percentage for the week, averaging 4.17 kills per set to go with 28 digs. She also had six aces with zero errors. Terry's best match of the week came with a 20-kill, 14 dig performance against North Carolina Central on Saturday, Sept. 9. She also finished with a .370 (20-3-46) hitting percentage and had three aces.
Other CAA honors included Taylor Austin of James Madison and Olamide Sonuga of Towson sharing CAA Defensive Player of the Week with Sanne Maring of Hofstra earning Rookie of the Week.
Elon will take part in one last tournament, the Tussle in the Triad, this weekend on Friday, Sept. 15, and Saturday, Sept. 16. The Phoenix will open Friday night at home against Navy at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Elon will host UNCG at 11 a.m. in Alumni Gym before making the trip to High Point for a 7 p.m. contest against the Panthers.
