ELON, N.C. -- Elon University’s student run radio station WSOE 89.3 FM will begin its Fall sports broadcast coverage of Phoenix sports with tomorrow's women’s soccer game under the lights against Davidson.
This fall WSOE will broadcast seven Phoenix sporting events including five volleyball matches and both soccer contests under the lights at Rhodes Stadium. In addition to the actual play-by-play and color commentary coverage, WSOE will have a 15 minute pregame show prior to each broadcast as well as in depth halftime and postgame shows.
The games to be covered will start this week when Elon women’s soccer takes on Davidson on Wednesday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. Live coverage will begin with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m. In addition WSOE will broadcast one more game in the month of September when Elon volleyball takes on Furman on Friday the 24th at 7:00 p.m. in Alumni Gym.
In the month of October, WSOE will cover four games beginning on Friday the 8th when volleyball takes on East Tennessee State at 7:00 p.m. Men’s soccer coverage will make its lone appearance over the airwaves on Wednesday the 13th when the Phoenix takes on the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill at 7:00 p.m. at Rhodes Stadium. Volleyball will finish with two more matches in October with games on Sunday the 17th at 4:00 p.m. versus Davidson and on Friday the 29th at 7:00 p.m. in a special road contest at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
Coverage will conclude on Saturday November 6 at 7:00 p.m. with Senior Day for the volleyball team with their last home game against Appalachian State.
In addition to the games coverage, make sure to continue to tune in to the first season of the Phoenix Football Tailgate Show for one hour starting an hour and a half before kickoff of each and every Phoenix home game with the next show airing on Saturday October 9 at 4:30 p.m. prior to the Elon-Wofford game.
