ELON, N.C. – Dave Blank, Elon University Director of Athletics, today announced staff improvements to The Phoenix Club, the fundraising arm of the Elon Department of Athletics. Brian Tracy has been promoted to Director of the Phoenix Club. Sarah Thomas, an Assistant Director of Admissions at Elon the last two years, has been named the Assistant Director of the Phoenix Club. Trey Stewart will enter his eighth year this fall as the Director of Development for Athletics.
“We are very excited about the fundraising team we have built to help advance the efforts of the athletics department as we go forward with our goals to be successful at the Division I level and in the Southern Conference,” Blank said. “We are confident that they will do an outstanding job of helping the department reach our goals.”
Every year, Phoenix Club donors provide annual scholarship support that enables Elon student-athletes to continue to become more competitive in the Southern Conference. Gifts to the Phoenix Club have an immediate impact on the entire athletics program by allowing Elon to fund scholarships for the student-athletes.
“Trey Stewart continues to do a fantastic job of working with our various constituents and assisting them with helping the department through major gifts, endowments and capital gifts,” said Blank. “As Trey’s needs continue to expand, we are very fortunate to have Brian Tracy leading the Phoenix Club. There is no doubt that Brian will do an outstanding job of leading our annual campaign efforts to meet our goals. We are also fortunate to add Sarah Thomas to our team and look forward to her efforts of advancing our fundraising and alumni involvement with all of our athletic programs.”
