ELON, N.C. -- The Elon University cheerleading squad recently placed third in the National Cheerleading Association’s annual Rally Routine competition during a camp in South Carolina. This minute and a half routine was packed full of tumbling, dancing, and multiple stunt sequences.
The squad competed against schools such as Georgia, James Madison and Coastal Carolina in the small co-ed division one category.
The captains of the all-girl squad, Lauren Van Fleet and Kelsey Norkett, were extremely impressed with the skills and enthusiasm of the squad's incoming freshman.
Norkett said, “The new cheerleaders at Elon gave a preview of what we can expect to see as the program continues to develop. Not only are they talented, but their work ethic is wonderful.”
“We have such a talented group of girls this year. Each one brings a new spunk to the squad,” added Van Fleet.
