ELON, N.C. – The Elon volleyball team (12-13, 5-5 SoCon) will play its final home matches of the season this weekend in Alumni Gym. The Phoenix hosts Appalachian State on Friday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. for its Pink Week game and Western Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. on Senior Night.
 
Friday’s match will be part of Elon Athletics’ Live Pink Week to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. The athletic department has partnered with Little Pink Houses of Hope and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority for the week’s events. Little Pink Houses of Hope and Zeta Tau Alpha will have a station set up at the match where fans can gather more information and make donations.
 
On Saturday, the team will honor seniors Ali Deatsch, Celia Rose Eddy, Allison Johnson, Carly Ledbetter and Alli Nogi prior to the match. These five seniors have helped Elon to a 75-49 record over the past four seasons, as well as the program’s most wins in a season (23) in 2009 and its first SoCon North Division title in 2010.
 
Following this weekend, Elon will play its four remaining matches of the regular season on the road at Samford, Chattanooga, UNCG and The Citadel. The 2012 SoCon Tournament will be held in Davidson, N.C., on Nov. 17-19.
