ELON, N.C. – Catch the Elon men’s and women’s basketball teams at home on Saturday, Dec. 1, as both squads host the College of Charleston Cougars in Alumni Gym. The women kick off the hoops double-dip at 2 p.m. before the men take on the Cougars in the nightcap at 7 p.m.
Led by second-year head coach Charlotte Smith, the Elon women have won eight of its last 10 home games in Alumni Gym dating back to last season and have captured four consecutive wins over the Cougars. Saturday’s game is the first of 10 remaining Southern Conference home games for the Phoenix.
Coming off an impressive victory at South Carolina last week, its second win over the Gamecocks in as many seasons, the Elon men return home for the first time since winning the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational Regional Games on Nov. 18. The Phoenix will have a tough test ahead of them versus College of Charleston, as the Cougars went on the road to beat 21st-ranked Baylor last week and currently own a 3-2 record.
