ELON, N.C. – The Elon volleyball team continues its home stretch of three matches in four days with the weekend finale on Saturday and Sunday in Alumni Gym during Elon's annual Homecoming. The Phoenix (5-17, 0-6 CAA) hosts Delaware (11-11, 4-3 CAA) on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. and College of Charleston (13-9, 5-2 CAA) on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m.
Looking BackElon played Towson on Thursday in its annual Pink Match, falling 3-1. The Phoenix dropped the first two sets before rallying to claim the third set and keep the match alive. Elon led the whole fourth set until the Tigers took the last three points for a 26-24 win in the final set.
Ally Karle recorded a season-high 17 kills, while both
Sydney Busa and
Megan Gravley tallied 12 kills.
Sydel Curry finished with a double-double after 39 assists and 13 digs and also added two aces. On defense, Karle led the team block with four total blocks.
Elon vs. DelawareThe Phoenix and the Blue Hens have never played one another before on the volleyball court. Saturday marks the first of many future meetings. The teams face each other once more this season on Friday, Nov. 14, when the maroon and gold travels to Newark, Del., to play in the return match.
Elon vs. CofCAfter a one-year absence, Elon and CofC renew its long-running series on Sunday. This marks the 22
nd meeting between the two programs that dates back to an Elon win in 1974. With the exception of 2013, the Phoenix and the Cougars have played every year since Elon joined the Southern Conference in 2003. CofC, the reigning CAA tournament champion, holds a strong advantage in the series, 19-2.

Looking AheadThe Phoenix goes back on the road for its next two matches. Elon travels to the Northeast to play Northeastern in Boston on Friday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m. and then to Hempstead, N.Y., on Sunday, Oct. 26, for a 1 p.m. match at Hofstra.
