Baseball (16-16, 6-3 CAA)

Elon at Towson, Friday-Sunday, April 14-16, 3/2/1 p.m., Towson, Md.
• After being named the CAA's co-pitcher and rookie of the week last week, freshman righty Kyle Brnovich threw another gem in a league win at William & Mary on Sunday. Brnovich struck out 15 hitters in 8.1 innings, the most strikeouts by an Elon pitcher since Steven Hensley fanned 16 against Davidson on March 30, 2007. At one point, Brnovich struck out six straight Tribe hitters. Brnovich did see his scoreless innings streak snapped at 20.2 innings when he allowed a fifth-inning run on Sunday.
• Sophomore Ryne Ogren recorded the 100th hit of his career, a double, during the series with William & Mary. Ogren has now reached base safely in 20 consecutive games.
• The Phoenix is scheduled to play five games this week. Elon will face High Point for the 211th time on Tuesday before hosting Wake Forest in a game postponed by rain last week. A second consecutive conference road series awaits the Phoenix this weekend as the maroon and gold visits Towson.
Men's Golf
Not competing this week
• The Phoenix wrapped up its spring schedule before the conference championships at the Clemson Invitational. The maroon and gold played against a tough field, which included four ranked teams and seven ranked individuals.
• William Harwood was Elon's highest individual finisher at the tournament, earning his fourth top-25 finish of the season.
• Elon showed improvement throughout the tournament and concluded the event on a strong note, bettering its second round score by 10 strokes. The Phoenix will now prepare for the 2017 CAA Championship, April 21-23, at Salisbury Country Club in Midlothian, Va.
Men's Tennis (8-11)
Elon vs. Shaw, Wednesday, April 12, 3 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center
Elon at East Carolina, Saturday, April 14, 2 p.m., Greenville, N.C.
• Elon's lone match scheduled for last Wednesday against UNCG was postponed, meaning the Phoenix has not played since Sunday, April 2. The team will be back in action this Wednesday, April 12, for the final home match of the season against Shaw.
• The Phoenix has won each of the last four doubles points dating back to March 16 against College of Charleston. On the season, Elon is 12-7 in doubles points and has won 10 of the last 13.
• After the regular season, Elon will host the CAA Tournament from April 21-23. Seeding for the tournament will be determined next week. This season, Elon is 3-0 against the CAA opponents it has battled, beating William & Mary and College of Charleston 5-2 and James Madison 4-3.
Women's Golf
Elon at CAA Championship, Friday-Sunday, April 14-16, Williamsburg, Va.
• Last week, Elon senior Kelsey Badmaev earned her sixth career CAA Golfer of the Week honor after placing third at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate. It marked the ninth top-five finish of her career and her second consecutive third-place finish.
• Elon will wrap up its spring season at the 2017 CAA Championship hosted by William & Mary at Ford's Colony Country Club.
• Last year finished fifth at the league showcase in Southport, N.C. Badmaev, who tied for 11th in 2016, is Elon's top returning performer from last year's tournament.
Women's Lacrosse (8-5, 0-2 CAA)
Elon vs. Drexel, Friday, April 14, 6 p.m., Rudd Field
Elon vs. Delaware, Sunday, April 16, 1 p.m., Rudd Field
• The Phoenix went on the road last week to take on No. 18 James Madison and No. 14 Towson, the two teams selected to finish ahead of Elon in the preseason CAA women's lacrosse poll. Elon dropped both matchups to fall to 8-5 on the season and 0-2 in CAA play.
• Stephanie Asher scored a goal in each game to bring her season total to 41. She is now three goals away from tying her program record for most goals in a single season.
• With two caused turnovers on Sunday against Towson, Rachel Ramirez has tied her program record with 24 caused turnovers in a single season.
Softball (26-13, 5-4 CAA)
Elon vs. NC State, Wednesday, April 12, at 6 p.m., Hunt Softball Park
Elon vs. Towson, Saturday-Sunday, April 15-16, at 1/3/1 p.m., Hunt Softball Park
• The Phoenix carries a season-tying six-game win streak into this week's games versus ACC foe NC State and against league opponent Towson. The Wolfpack will be the sixth and final ACC team that the Phoenix will face this season.
• Elon went 5-0 last week, including doubleheader sweep at Virginia Tech last Wednesday, its first wins ever versus the Hokies. The Phoenix concluded the week with a series sweep at Drexel over the weekend, improving the Phoenix's mark to 5-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association standings, good for third in the league.
• A few milestones were reached for the Phoenix last week. Junior Kiandra Mitchum tied the program-record with her sixth career save against the Hokies along with Jen Lamb (2003-04) and Caitlin O'Shea (2012-15). Alaina Hall moved into the program's top-three career list for hits while Kara Shutt moved into the top-five in career doubles. Carey Million became just the seventh player in school history to have 40 or more RBI and has a CAA-best 41 this season – just six shy of the program's all-time single-season record.
Women's Tennis (15-7)
Elon vs. Appalachian State, Wednesday, April 12, 3 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center
Elon vs. James Madison, Saturday, April 15, 11 a.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center
• Elon earned a third straight win at home and improved to 11-1 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center this season with a Senior Day victory over College of Charleston on Saturday.
• Erica Braschi defeated Liza Fieldsend for her fourth straight singles win and improved to 13-7 overall this spring. Additionally, Kirsten Ward and Alex Koniaev picked up their 10th singles wins in dual match play. Koniaev's victory at No. 5 singles clinched the win on Saturday against Charleston.
• The Phoenix wraps up the regular season this week at home on Wednesday and Saturday before the CAA Tennis Championships, April 20-24, at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
Women's Track and Field
Phoenix Invitational, Saturday, April 15, Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex
• Elon hosts its annual home meet this season, the Phoenix Invitational this Saturday, at the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex. This will be the third straight year that the maroon and gold has hosted its outdoor meet after nearly a eight year absence.
• The Phoenix last competed at the Tiger Track Classic over the weekend, April 7-8, at Auburn University. Senior Kimberly Johansen broke her school-record in the 800-meters with a time of 2:08.41, besting her previous personal-best by nearly two seconds. She would finish as the runner-up in the event.
• In the CAA outdoor rankings, Elon has three athletes currently with the best marks or times in their respective events in Johansen (800 and 1,500-meters), Carrie Abraham (triple jump) and Bryanna Hames (discus and shot put).
