Baseball (21-27, 11-10 CAA)
Elon at Liberty, Tuesday, May 9, 6 p.m., Lynchburg, Va.
Elon vs. UNCW, Friday-Sunday, May 12-14, 6 / 4 / 1:30 p.m., Latham Park
• With Elon's 8-1 win at Hofstra on Saturday, Elon skipper
Mike Kennedy earned career victory number 675.
• Senior outfielder Kyle Jackson hit his 10th and 11th home runs of the season in the series at Hofstra. Jackson, who hit 12 homers last year, became the first Phoenix player to have back-to-back years with 10 or more homers since a trio of players did so in 2009-10.
• Elon will play its final road game of the regular season on Tuesday night when the Phoenix visits Liberty for the conclusion of a home-and-home set. The maroon and gold will then return home for its final six games of the year. That run begins with Elon's final CAA series of the year against UNCW this weekend.
Softball (32-21, 9-11 CAA)
Season completed
• The Phoenix ended its season this past weekend at No. 13/14 James Madison and just missed out on qualifying for the CAA Tournament for the third straight season.
• Elon's 32 wins this season is the most for the program since the 2010 season and its .604 winning percentage is also the team's highest since that season.
• Senior Carey Million broke the program's single-season RBI record over the weekend against the Dukes, driving in her 48th of the season. The Roebling, N.J., native broke Emerald Graham's mark of 47 that she set in 2011.
Women's Lacrosse (13-6)
NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship, First Round
Elon vs. Virginia, Friday, May 12, 5 p.m., Chapel Hill, N.C.
• In only its fourth year of existence, the Elon women's lacrosse program earned its first bid to the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship late Sunday night, May 7. The Phoenix will face Virginia on Friday, May 12, at 5 p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C. The winner is set to face second-seeded North Carolina on Sunday, May 14.
• Elon enters Friday's game with a 13-6 mark after advancing to the Colonial Athletic Association Championship game for the first time in school history. Elon is looking to extend its program record for most wins in a season with a run in the Big Dance.
• Elon advanced to the CAA title game Sunday after defeating No. 17 Towson on Friday night, May 5, in the CAA Semifinals at Johnny Unitas Stadium. The victory over the Tigers gave the Phoenix and third win over a nationally-ranked opponent and the fourth in program history.
• This will be Elon's second matchup of the season against Virginia. The Phoenix defeated the Cavaliers 11-10 back on Feb. 11 in Charlottesville, Va., on a goal by Abby Godfrey with just one second to play.
Women's Track and Field
Elon at Aggies Last Chance Meet, Sunday, May 14, Greensboro, N.C.
• Elon competed at the 2017 CAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend at Delaware. The Phoenix finished second overall as a team at the meet with 158 points, just four and a half points shy of the league championship.
• The Phoenix saw three individuals and its 4x400-meter relay team claim CAA titles at the meet. Emily Dixon took her third straight heptathlon crown after scoring 5,799 points in the multis while Kimberly Johansen took medalist honors in both the 800 and 1,500-meters. Senior Carrie Abraham won the triple jump title with her leap of 39' 10.5" (12.15m) while the 4x400-meter relay quartet of Desiree Ross, Meagan Henderson, Katie Arbogast and Lauren Brzozowski clocked a time of 3:45.17 – their best time of the season. Overall, Elon had 11 All-CAA recognitions from eight athletes and its 4x400-meter relay team.
• Select members of the team will compete at the Aggies Last Chance meet on Sunday, May 14 to strengthen their ranking for the NCAA East Preliminaries beginning on May 25.
