ELON, N.C. – Elon University volleyball celebrated Senior Day on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Schar Center, but College of Charleston played the role of spoiler as the maroon and gold dropped its season finale in straight sets.
The Phoenix finishes its 2018 campaign 13-15 overall and 4-12 in CAA play. The team recognized its senior class of

THE RUNDOWN
Nori Thomas got Elon off to a quick start against the Cougars in set one with consecutive kills. After Charleston committed an attack error to make it 3-0, the visitors finally got going and earned the next two points. Thomas continued the attack, however, and highlighted a 4-0 run with two more kills and a service, prompting a Charleston timeout. Down 11-5, the Cougars collected themselves and turned in a 5-0 response. CofC would later pull even at 14-all and capped off the set with a 7-2 swing to take the first match point.
With Elon holding a narrow 7-6 advantage early in set two, the Cougars benefitted from three errors by the Phoenix to take over. Later, the guests scored five unanswered to pull away for good. CofC turned in a 25-16 decision for another match point.
In the final set, remained neck-and-neck with a total of 10 ties. At 11-all, the Cougars erupted for seven points before finally committing an attack error. However, another 5-0 spurt effectively sealed the victory as CofC claimed a 25-13 decision to win the match.
HIGHLIGHTS
Thomas led Elon in scoring for the second time in as many matches. The Stafford, Va. native posted eight kills on 19 attacks with a .211 hitting percentage. She added a service ace and a dig to her totals. Right behind her was
Leah Daniel with seven kills on 25 attacks for a .240 clip. The freshman out of Zionsville, Ind. also collected one dig with a pair of block assists.
Kodi Garcia chipped in 23 assists, Jaudon tallied 12 digs, and Pavlick had a solo block and two block assists.
NOTES
-Terry scored four kills and finishes her career with 1,346 to rank sixth on Elon's career scorer's list.
-Jaudon surpassed 1,900 career digs on the day. She ends her time at Elon with 1,908, good for third-most in program history.
-Needing three assists to reach 200 for her freshman season,
Haylie Clark earned four on the day.
-The match featured 20 ties and six lead changes.
