• In its weekend series sweep of Hofstra, the Elon pitching staff racked up 47 strikeouts. It began with a 17-strikeout performance on Friday during which Kyle Brnovich, the national leader in strikeouts, fanned 12 hitters. On Saturday, George Kirby struck out a career-best 13 hitters as the Phoenix finished with 15 K's. In the series finale on Sunday, Elon recorded 15 strikeouts, including a season-high eight from starter Ryan Conroy.
• Last week, Brnovich was named to the watch list for the Golden Spikes Award, which is presented annually to the top amateur baseball player in the nation. There are 40 players on the watch list and the Elon sophomore is the lone representative from the CAA.
• Elon will host five games at Latham Park this week. Among those are a three-game weekend series with Hartford. This will serve as the program's Alumni Weekend. Over the course of the weekend, the 2006, 2008 and 2009 Southern Conference championship teams will be honored.

• The countdown is on, and in just over 200 days, Elon men's basketball will open the 2018-19 season against the North Carolina Tar Heels inside Schar Center, Elon's new state-of-the-art arena and convocation center. 
• Season tickets for the 2018-19 season go on sale later this summer and are the only way to be guaranteed seats to watch Elon take on the University of North Carolina. Please fill out the Season Tickets Interest Form if you are interested in purchasing season tickets and the Elon Ticket Office will notify you regarding additional ticket information. 
  
Men's Golf
Elon at CAA Championships | Friday-Sunday, April 20-22 | Raleigh, N.C.
• After concluding its regular season over the weekend, the Elon men's golf team will participate in the 2018 CAA Championships held at Lonnie Poole Golf Course at NC State in Raleigh, N.C. this weekend.
• In its three CAA Championships appearances since 2015, Elon has earned two Top 5 finishes, including a program-best fourth-place finish at the 2016 championships. Last season, the Phoenix placed seventh at Salisbury Country Club in Midlothian, Va.
• The Phoenix has earned Top 5 finishes in seven of its 10 tournaments this season since the start of the fall campaign.
 
Men's Tennis (15-7)

• Elon closed its regular season last week with a pair of 5-2 victories over UNC Asheville and UNCG to head to the upcoming CAA Tournament at 15-7 overall.
• On the docket, Elon will open the CAA Tennis Championships this weekend on Friday, April 20. Seeding and match times will be determined early this week ahead of the start of competition.
• Elon has reached at least the semifinals of each of its last five conference tournaments going back to the 2013 campaign.
• All three days of competition will be held at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. Quarterfinal Friday on the women's side will take place at the Burlington Tennis Center.
 
Softball (20-22, 4-8 CAA)

• The Phoenix returns to Hunt Softball Park after a eight-game absence to host perennial league power James Madison in a three-game set. The series begins on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
• The last time James Madison visited Elon came in 2016 when the Phoenix earned a 5-4 victory over the then sixth-ranked Dukes in 15 innings. Kara Shutt had the walk-off hit in the 15th to help Elon earn a win over its highest-ranked opponent.
• Speaking of Shutt, the Greensboro, N.C., native is having a historic season during her senior campaign. Her .423 average would rank as the best in school history and she is only two doubles shy of tying the Colonial Athletic Association's all-time career record, as she sits with 58 in her career.
       
Women's Golf

• Elon wrapped up its spring season at the CAA Championships over the weekend. The maroon and gold earned a fourth-place finish in the team standings.
• Senior Heather Munro was named to the All-Tournament team after placing in a tie for fourth out of 39 individuals in the event. Munro shot a 10-over 226 through the three rounds of the championship.
• The Phoenix posted the lowest round of any of the eight programs in the field in both the second and third round.

• In a tie for fourth in the conference after a pair of losses to the CAA's two unbeaten teams, Elon will head to Delaware and Drexel for a key weekend of CAA action.
• With three games to play, Elon stands 1-2 in CAA action and is tied for fourth in the conference. The top four teams make next month's CAA Tournament, which will be held in Harrisonburg, Va., at Sentara Park on the campus of defending tournament champion James Madison.
• Stephanie Asher set a new program record this weekend for most draw controls in a season with 62 on the campaign. That ties her for second-most in the conference. 
 
Women's Track & Field
Elon at Duke Invitational | Friday-Saturday, April 20-21 | Durham, N.C.
Elon at Virginia Challenge | Friday-Saturday, April 20-21 | Charlottesville, Va.
• Elon will split for meets this weekend at the Duke Invitational and the Virginia Challenge with both meets starting on Friday, April 20.
• The program hosted its annual home meet, the Phoenix Invitational, this past Saturday at its home track, the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex. Elon came away with five event victories and several personal-records in its showcase in front of its home fans.
• Senior Bre'anna Warren won the shot put for the second-straight meet, as the Greensboro, N.C., native threw a personal-record of 48' 6.75" (14.80m). Last Tuesday, Warren was named the CAA's Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after her performance at the VertKlasse Meeting the previous Friday.
 
Women's Tennis (13-12)

• The Phoenix will take part in the upcoming 2018 CAA Tennis Championships, which returns to Elon for a fourth-consecutive season this year. 
• Elon has appeared in at least the semifinals of its conference tournament each of the last five seasons. Last year, the Phoenix topped Towson 4-1 in the quarterfinals before falling to UNCW 4-2 in the semifinals.
• Elon comes into the CAA tournament with a 13-12 overall mark, which includes an 8-3 record at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. The maroon and gold is 22-5 in its last 27 matches at home.
Elizabeth Anderson is in her 14th season as head coach of the Phoenix. She is currently at 198 victories and is two away from reaching 200 for her career. Since joining the CAA in 2015, the Phoenix has posted a 58-36 dual match record under the direction of Anderson.
• Competition in the tournament Thursday, Saturday and Sunday will take place at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. Friday's action on the women's side will be held at the Burlington Tennis Center.
