SERIES HISTORY

-vs. N.C. Central: Saturday afternoon's match against N.C. Central is the first of two between the two teams this season. Elon owns a 24-5 advantage in the all-time series and has won each of the last 19 matches against the Eagles going back to Oct. 24, 1984. What's more, Elon has lost just two sets in the last 15 matches between the two. N.C. Central was part of the Phoenix Classic in 2017 as well.
-vs. Gardner-Webb: Against the nightcap opponent, Elon owns a 27-8 lead on Gardner-Webb and has won each of the last nine meetings and 21 of the last 24 overall going back to Oct. 5, 1989.

LAST TIME OUT
-Elon opened Schar Center in style Tuesday, Aug. 28, with a 3-0 win over North Carolina A&T in front of a program-record 1,465 fans.
-Kam Terry led the team with 12 kills. Leah Daniel also had eight kills. Elizabeth Coil finished with a career-high-tying six blocks in the win.

PERFECT STARTS
-Under head coach Mary Tendler, Elon is 4-0 through four matches for the fourth time. Last time Elon was unbeaten through this many matches was in 2011 when Elon was 5-0 to start. She also guided the Phoenix to a 5-0 start in 2010.
-The longest unbeaten streak to open a year under Tendler came in 2009 when the Phoenix opened 11-0.
-Susan Leonard's 1993 team owns the program's best start to a season at 21-0. The 1994 team opened 12-0 to place second with Tendler's 2009 team having the third-longest streak to start a season.
-With three wins this weekend, Elon would be 7-0 to start a season for just the fifth time in program history. The other 7-0 team was Kay Yow's 1974 squad.

ALL-TOURNEY TEAMS
-Maddie Jaudon was named Co-MVP of the Charlotte Invitational after averaging 4.92 digs per set over the course of the three matches.
-Kellyn Trowse was also named to the All-Tournament Team after posting two matches with double-digit kills with at least seven digs and three blocks in all three matches.

1K Kills
-Kam Terry reached 1,000 kills for her career in the first set against Charlotte on Friday, Aug. 24.
-The senior from Marengo, Ohio, is now 75 kills away from reaching the program's Top 10 chart for the category.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
-On opening weekend, Kodi Garcia recorded her 13th and 14th career double-doubles in maroon and gold.
-The sophomore from Tomball, Texas, had 33 assists and 11 digs in the season opener against Presbyterian before posting 40 assists and 16 digs in the win over USC Upstate.
-She nearly also had a double-double against Charlotte with 44 assists and eight digs.

PRESEASON ACCOLADES
-Kodi Garcia was named one of 10 student-athletes to the Preseason All-CAA Team as an honorable mention.

-Garcia had 1,279 assists in 2017, tying for the most in a season in Elon's Division I era and the second-most in program history on the way to earning CAA Rookie of the Year.

ITALIAN MADE
-Over Spring Break 2018, Elon volleyball went to Italy to visit Milan, Como, Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence, Assisi and Rome.
-During the trip, the team visited Lake Como, the tiny villages that form the Five Lands "Cinque Terre," the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Basilica of Saint Francis, the Colosseum, the Vatican City and more.
-It also battled a pair of professional Italian volleyball teams.

THE SYDEL CURRY LOCKER ROOM
-Between the second and third sets Tuesday night, Elon volleyball's locker room was named in honor of Sydel Curry '17.
-An early wedding gift from her brothers, Steph and Seth Curry, the team's new locker room has officially been named the Sydel Curry Locker Room. Sydel is getting married this weekend.
