DURHAM, N.H. – Greg Liggs, Jr. intercepted three passes on the afternoon, but Elon University football dropped a 26-10 contest on the road in CAA Football action to New Hampshire on Saturday, Oct. 5.
THE RUNDOWN
Kicking off to start the day, Elon (2-4, 1-2 CAA) got a big play on the second play of the game for the second week in a row with Liggs intercepting UNH (3-2, 2-0 CAA) quarterback Max Brosmer. Eight plays later,
Skyler Davis converted from 34 yards out to give the Phoenix a 3-0 lead early.
Following 13 consecutive points for the Wildcats, Elon put together an 11-play, 70-yard drive that saw
Jaylan Thomas cap the series with a 13-yard touchdown carry. On the first play of the second quarter,
Brelynd Cyphers converted a third-and-six on the UNH 41 with a 12-yard carry to setup the touchdown run that pulled Elon within three at 13-10.
That's as close as Elon would come, though, with UNH scoring to go up 20-10 at halftime before keeping Elon off the scoreboard in the second half on the way to the win.
