ELON, N.C. – Four
 goals scored by members of its senior class helped the Elon University men's soccer team to a 4-1 victory over College of Charleston in its season finale at Rudd Field on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Tuki Tayali,
Caner Snover,
Iñigo Bronte and
Luke Matthews all netted a goal for the Phoenix with Snover and Matthews connecting on their first of the season. The quartet helped the maroon and gold close out 2019 with a 7-9-1 overall record and a 2-6 mark in the CAA. College of Charleston finished the campaign at 2-12-2 and 1-6-1 versus league opponents.

The Rundown
Tayali put the Phoenix on the board inside the 22
nd minute to open the scoring of the match. The London, England, native played a ball inside the 12-yard area in the box to connect on his second goal of the season.

The Cougars did not waste any time leveling the contest just three minutes later. College of Charleston's Mads Myllerup scored on a long shot from outside the box for his first of the season and tied the match at 1-1.

The Phoenix answered with a pair of goals just before halftime to retake control of the game. In the 39
th minute, Snover raced the ball up the field and found himself open on the right wing before firing a shot into the far post from 10 yards out. It was the first goal of his career for the Easton, Conn., native.

Bronte then doubled the Phoenix's lead two minutes later. The striker played a cross near the right post and was able to finish for his fifth goal of the season as Elon headed into the locker room with a 3-1 advantage.

The Phoenix added the final score of the contest in the 61
st minute. Elon earned a corner kick with
Sam Bacon sending the ball into the box. Matthews was able to use his 6-foot-4 frame to head the ball over the keeper for his first score of the season off the set piece, making the score 4-1.

Elon ended the match dominating the Cougars in shots by a tally of 22-4 with nine attempts coming on goal.
Sam Loeffler made his first career start in goal for Elon and had a save in nearly 75 minutes of action.
