Last year, more than 2,200 Elon alumni, family members, and fans chose to invest in Elon student-athlete scholarships. We recognize that 2020 has been a trying and challenging year for so many, and we are so grateful for the steadfast support from the Elon Athletics community for our student-athletes. If you are not yet a Phoenix Club member, December is a great time to join as all gifts received by the end of the calendar year are eligible for deductibility* in 2020.
Under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed in March of 2020, all individual taxpayers can take a deduction of up to $300 for cash contributions to qualified nonprofits such as Elon University made in 2020, even if you do not itemize your deductions. For those who itemize their deduction, charitable contributions can be deducted up to 100% of your adjusted gross income for 2020*. To qualify for these deductions the donation must be made in cash, by check, or credit card by December 31 at 2:00 p.m.

Please note, Elon is officially closed for winter break from December 21 to January 1. The Phoenix Club team will be accessible via email and phone during this time.

ONLINE
Online gifts must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on December 31 to be treated as a deduction for 2020. This happens instantly and is receipted immediately. Please visit www.elonphoenix.com/makeagift to make your gift online.
PHONE
To make a gift over the phone, please call the Phoenix Club at (336) 278-6781 before December 31 at 2:00 p.m.
MAIL
Any checks postmarked by December 31 will be processed for calendar year 2020. Checks can be made out to the Phoenix Club and mailed to 2500 Campus Box, Elon, NC 27244. Keeping in mind the university holiday hours, if your check is mailed after December 19 please allow for a delay in processing the checks as the team will be processing mail periodically throughout the holiday break.
APPRECIATED SECURITIES
Stock transfers and especially mutual funds transfers take longer. Please check with your broker about the processing time of your gift and note that it cannot be processed as a gift until it is received in Elon's custody account.
