RICHMOND, Va.—The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced on Oct. 25 that goalkeeper McKenna Dalfonso has been selected as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week for her performances against William & Mary and #23/25 Hofstra last week.
 
On the week, Dalfonso (8-5-2) recorded a .929 save percentage, fourteen saves on 30 shots faced and one shutout. The shutout is the 12th of her career, moving her rank up to seventh in program history in the category.  
 
In Elon's 2-1 double-overtime upset against the nationally-ranked Pride, Dalfonso posted six saves and a .857 save percentage, allowing just one goal off a penalty kick. With the win, Dalfonso is 2-0 all-time against Hofstra.
 
Dalfonso also totaled a career-high eight saves in the Phoenix's scoreless draw at William & Mary. The shutout was the sixth of her sophomore campaign, matching her single-season best.
 
Through 15 games, Dalfonso ranks second in the conference in shutouts (6) and fifth in both goals-against average (.969) and save percentage (.786).
 
Elon will visit James Madison on Thursday, Oct. 28 for a 7 p.m. matchup.
