RICHMOND, Va. - Elon University volleyball's
Leah Daniel has been named the Colonial Athletic Association's Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon, March 22.
The Zionsville, Ind. native led the Phoenix (4-3, 2-2 CAA) on offense this past week as the team earned wins over UNC Greensboro and Davidson to extend its winning streak to four matches. Against the Spartans last Thursday, Daniel swung for .243, paced the attack with 12 kills and added eight digs. This past Saturday versus the Wildcats, she set a new career high with 30 kills as she posted a .387 clip. The junior also tallied 14 digs for her second double-double of the season and added two blocks to her match totals. Through the two matches, she averaged 5.25 kills and 2.75 digs per set. She currently ranks second in the CAA with 121 total kills and third with 4.17 kills per set.
Daniel and the Phoenix are back in action this Wednesday, March 24 as the team welcomes James Madison for a 5 p.m. CAA match at Schar Center.
