DURHAM, N.C. – The Elon University men's tennis team defeated NC Central, 7-0, on Sunday, April 18. The victory moved the Phoenix to 13-5 overall this season.
 
"Our team is starting to come together," said head coach Michael Leonard. "Our team is the healthiest it's been all year and we starting to come into our own."
 
HIGHLIGHTS
-Nicholas Condos clinched the match for the Phoenix with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Amit Baran in the No. 2 position. 
-Kyle Frankel defeated Stipan Madzar 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot for his team-leading 12^th singles victory of the season.  
-In No. 3 singles, Camilo Ponce outlasted Sebastian Pino 3-6, 7-6 (9-7), 10-7 in a three-set battle for his 10^th singles win of the season.
-Nicholas Campbell posted his eighth singles victory of the season, beating Shaka Cristellotti 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4 spot. Campbell improved to 8-1 on the season in singles with the win.
-Chung-Han Tsai rounded out the singles sweep for the Phoenix with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Miles Clark in the No. 5 position.
-The duo of Akram El Sallaly and Tsai clinched the doubles point, defeating Pino and Madzar 6-1. The win was their 10^th doubles victory of the season.
-In No. 2 doubles, Condos and Campbell defeated Baran and Cristellotti 6-4. It was the first match for the duo this season.

The Phoenix will host James Madison at Jimmy Powell Tennis Center in its final regular-season match on Wednesday, April 21 at 3:00 p.m. El Sallaly will be honored prior to the match as part of his senior recognition.
