RICHMOND, Va. - Elon University volleyball's Leah Daniel has been named the Colonial Athletic Association's Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon, Sept. 20.
 
The senior from Zionsville, Ind. led the Phoenix (7-5, 2-0 CAA) with 56 points and 53 kills (4.82/set) last week. The effort helped the maroon and gold bounce back from a 3-0 loss at North Carolina and secure a pair of 3-1 conference wins at College of Charleston. Daniel posted double-digit kills in all three matches and hit for a .241 clip. After tallying 12 kills against the Tar Heels, she set a new season high with 22 kills in the CAA opener at CofC. Daniel then capped off her week with 19 kills in the second meeting with the Cougars to eclipse 1,000 career kills. She currently ranks first in the league with 4.18 kills per set. 
 
Daniel and the Phoenix are back in Schar Center this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 25-26 as Elon hosts Delaware for a pair of CAA matches.
