RICHMOND, Va. - For the second time in as many weeks, Elon University volleyball's Leah Daniel has been named the Colonial Athletic Association's Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon, Sept. 27.
 
A senior from Zionsville, Ind., Daniel scored 40.5 points (5.06/set) with 38 kills (4.75/set) and a .345 hitting percentage to lead the Phoenix (9-5, 4-0 CAA) to a pair of conference wins over Delaware this past weekend at Schar Center. She added 13 digs and five blocks to her weekly totals and has now reached double-digit kills in seven consecutive matches. On Saturday against the Blue Hens, she led all scorers with 22 kills and 23.5 points. Daniel posted a .278 clip and added three blocks, which tied her season high, and five digs. On Sunday, she turned in match highs of 16 kills and 17 points and swung for a .467 clip while recording two blocks with eight digs.

The CAA Preseason Player of the Year, Daniel continues to lead the CAA in both total kills (205) and kills per set (4.27). Her effort this weekend helped the maroon and gold improve to 4-0 against CAA opponents, its best start to conference play in the program's Division I history.
 
Daniel and the Phoenix travel to Towson, Md. this weekend for a pair of conference matches against the Towson Tigers. The two teams will play on Saturday and Saturday, Oct. 2-3 with both contests schedule for 2 p.m. starts inside of SECU Arena.
