ELON, N.C. -Â Elon University women's tennis fell to Davidson, 5-2, on Saturday, March 5, at the Davidson Tennis Courts in Davidson, N.C.

Lizette Reding led the way for the Phoenix, making quick work of Elizabeth Truluck in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. It was the third consecutive singles win for Reding and moved her to 1-1 in the No. 2 position.

Olivia Archer continued her strong play of late, extending her winning streak to a team-best five matches with her victory over Mira Gladstone 6-1, 7-6 in No. 6 singles. Archer now leads the team in wins this season with seven.

Victoria Saldh dropped a close three-set battle in No. 3 singles. After winning the first set 7-6, Saldh was outlasted by Emma Heiderscheit 7-6 in the second set to set up a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, Heiderscheit earned a 10-6 decision.
- The combination of Archer and
Alison O'Dea picked up the lone doubles win for Elon in the contest, taking down Emma Heiderscheit and Franny Shea 6-1 in the No. 3 spot. With the win, the duo improved to a team-best 7-3 overall this season and has won seven consecutive matches.

Shauna Galvin earned a victory in an exhibition match against L. Patterson, taking home a 7-6 (4), 7-5 decision.

Elon returns to action on Sunday, March 6, when it travels to Raleigh, N.C. for a 5 p.m. matchup with No. 2 nationally ranked NC State.
