ELON, N.C. - Elon University women's tennis came up just short against second-seeded William & Mary, falling 4-1, in the championship match of the 2022 CAA Women's Tennis Championship on Sunday, May 1, at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center in Elon, N.C.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Olivia Archer won the lone singles match for Elon, taking down Elisa Van Meeteren 7-5, 6-0 in No. 4 singles. Archer finishes the year with a team-best 19 singles wins, a perfect 9-0 in the No. 4 position and with wins in each of her final six outings.
- Sibel Tanik was locked in a battle with Mila Saric in No. 1 singles, winning the first set 7-6 before dropping the second set 3-6. From there the match went unfinished due to William & Mary clinching the win. Tanik rounds out the year with a 14-6 overall record and won eight of her last nine matches.
- Lizette Reding started strong, winning the first set 6-2 before Gurholt tied things at one set apiece with a 6-3 decision in the second set. She then held a 3-0 lead over Hedda Gurholt in the decisive third set of No. 2 singles prior to the match going unfinished. Reding ends her season with an 11-9 record and an 8-5 mark in the No. 2 slot.
- The combination of Tanik and Reding led Meeteren and Raffaela Alhach 5-1 in the No. 1 doubles before the match went unfinished due to William & Mary clinching the doubles point. The duo rounded out the year with a 12-8 mark at No. 1 and overall.
