Richmond, Va. – Senior defensive specialist/libero Jordan Gower has been named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week to kick off the 2022 season.
 
Gower averaged a CAA-best 6.4 digs per set over three matches, an average that has her ranked No. 2 in the country through the first weekend of play. After posting 14 digs against Liberty, she followed that up with 29 against High Point and 27 more against VCU at the VCU Invitational. She was named to the all-tournament team for her efforts.
 
Gower also impressed with a .974 serve receive percentage, and added three service aces and 11 assists.
 
Elon Volleyball went 1-2 on the weekend, closing the tournament with a four-set victory over host VCU. The Phoenix will travel to the NC State Tournament this weekend to face Colgate, Tennessee and NC State.
