SETTING THE SCENE
  • Currently on a three-game winning streak, Elon enters the top 25 polls, for the first time since the 2021 spring COVID-19 season, at No. 23. The Phoenix will host No. 17/22 Richmond Saturday at 2 p.m. in the only FCS game in the country featuring two ranked teams.
  • Elon is into the polls for the first time since being ranked No. 24 for a 42-20 loss to Gardner-Webb on Feb. 27, 2021.
  • For those not in attendance, the game can be streamed via FloSports or watched locally on My48. Taylor Durham and Mark Covert will have the call, with Rebecca Fiorentino serving as the sideline reporter.
  • The audio broadcast begins with the pregame show at 1:30 p.m. with Chase Williams and Bryce Byrnes. The audio broadcast is available for free via The Varsity Network app on your mobile device.
  • Richmond holds a 9-4 edge in the all-time series but the Phoenix defeated the Spiders 20-7 in Richmond a year ago. Richmond is 5-1 all-time inside Rhodes Stadium.
  • Elon is 1-0 at home this year and has won two straight in Elon. Richmond is 1-1 on the road this year and has won three of its last four away from the cozy confines.
