ELON, N.C. – The Elon University volleyball team hits the road for a weekend series against College of Charleston. The matches on Saturday and Sunday are both scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Phoenix dropped both matches last weekend at home against fellow Triad rival North Carolina A&T. After winning the first set on Saturday, Elon lost the next three sets and was swept the following day.
- Cameron Lanier and Clara LaRue paced the Phoenix on the weekend in kills with 19 apiece.
- Sydney Love recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 digs on Saturday.
- Jessica Parker recorded 53 assists last weekend, including a season-high 33 assists on Saturday. The freshman now has 11 matches this season with 20-plus assists.
- In the five-set battle on Saturday, Lily Barker tallied a season-high three blocks.
- Caroline Doyle had a career-high four aces on Sunday against the Aggies.
PHOENIX FACTS
- Elon is 0-10 in CAA play and 3-16 overall.
- Cameron Lanier has a team-high 169 kills so far this season while Sydney Love follows with 136.
- Jessica Parker now ranks No. 7 in total assists (421) and No. 8 in the league in both assists per set (6.19) and aces (26).
- After recording nine blocks last weekend, Caroline Berlekamp continues to pace the Phoenix and ranks No. 10 in the CAA in blocks (49) and blocks per set (0.88)
- Senior Jordan Gower ranks third in the conference with 279 digs and 4.10 digs per set.
- As a team, the maroon and gold ranks sixth in both digs per set (13.96) and blocks per set (1.99) while ranking eighth in service aces per set (1.43) and total blocks (135).
THE MATCHUP
- College of Charleston is 33-6 in its previous matches against Elon.
- In its most recent meeting against the Cougars the Phoenix pulled out a five-set win on Oct. 23, 2022.
- In 2021, the Phoenix went 2-2 on the road against Charleston and are 4-12 overall in matches in TD Arena.
SCOUTING COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON
- The Cougars enter the weekend with a 7-14 overall record after dropping a pair of matches to Campbell last weekend. The team is 4-6 in CAA league matches so far this season.
- College of Charleston ranks No. 6 in the CAA in hitting percentage (.211), assists (857), assists per set (11.43) and kills per set (12.59).
- Jasmin Goei and Hannah Scott split the setting duties for the Cougars. Both have over 200 assists this season. Goei has 278 while Scott has 273.
- Lexi Wierzbicki is pacing the Cougars this season with kills 218 (2.99 per set), ranking ninth in the league. Anna Smith follows with 211 (2.89 per set).
- College of Charleston's defense is led by Tynley Smeltzer, who has a team-high 269 digs (3.68 per set) which ranks fourth in the CAA in both categories.
- Sofie Vogel leads the team with 58 blocks and 0.84 blocks per set this season.
- The Cougars are led by Jason Kepner in his 16th year as head coach.
