Phoenix Fan Fest to Launch for Football Game Days

Elon, N.C. - Phoenix Fan Fest is the latest addition to the Elon football tailgating scene. Open for all five home games during the 2023 season, the Phoenix Fan Fest will offer free pregame entertainment options for all fans starting four hours prior to kickoff.

Located adjacent to the Ingold Lot (between Rhodes Stadium, Latham Baseball Park and the new Elon Baseball Performance Center), fans will be able to participate in various tailgate games, such as giant Jenga and cornhole. Fans will be able to get their faces painted with their favorite Elon flair by artists from Burlington-based Painted Grape or watch College Gameday and games from around the country on the 8'x15' jumbo video screen. Kid-friendly inflatable games and bounce houses will also be included.

The traditional Phoenix Walk will be reconfigured to bring the football team through the Ingold Lot and Phoenix Fan Fest two hours and 20 minutes prior to kickoff – allowing fans to cheer on the Phoenix as the team makes its way to Rhodes Stadium. Prior to the arrival of the team, the Fire of the Carolinas will excite the crowd on hand with a pre-game pep rally next to the Fan Fest.

"The Phoenix Fan Fest will bring a renewed energy to our gameday tailgating scene," Senior Associate Athletics Director Dr. Jason Chandler said. "We encourage fans to come to campus early and enjoy an entire day of fun, spirit and camaraderie that is the hallmark of college football Saturdays. Due to its proximity to the stadium and its location next to the student tailgating area on Bank of America Drive, the Ingold Lot is the ideal setting for the Phoenix Fan Fest on the way to Rhodes Stadium to cheer on the Phoenix!"

The Phoenix Fan Fest is free and open to all gameday guests and will close approximately 10 minutes prior to kickoff to allow fans the opportunity to make their way to their seats in Rhodes Stadium.
