With the Phoenix ahead 18-8, the Pride responded winning 10 of the next 15 points, but with a Lanier kill and an ace from Shannon O'Laughlin, Elon won the second set 25-18.
  • Down 17-14 in the third set, Elon went on a 3-0 run to tie the score thanks to kills by Keira Kasten and Lanier and an O'Laughlin ace. It was point-for-point until Hofstra retook the lead at 22-21 and led the rest of the way. The Pride won three straight points to win the set 25-21.
  • Early in the fourth set, Hofstra controlled the momentum leading 12-5, but Elon chipped at the lead throughout the set. A kill from Kasten brought the Phoenix within eight at 17-9 but ultimately came up short as the Pride closed out the set and match, 25-11.

FROM HEAD COACH MARY TENDLER
"Every match in the CAA is going to be a hard fought battle with different challenges. This weekend taught us what it will take mentally and physically to score points and win. It was fun to watch the team dominate that second set.  We look forward to playing at home in Schar Center next weekend."
