Elon 0, Wofford 3 (20-25, 20-25, 17-25)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Phoenix went ahead 10-7 early in the opening set, but the Terriers scored six of the next 10 points to tie the match at 13. It was a back-and-forth battle until Wofford went on a 6-1 run while tied at 19 to seal the first set, 25-20.
- Wofford came out hot in the second set, leading 13-7 at the mid-way point. The Phoenix scored three-straight points to cut it to three, but Wofford would break away with a set of kills. Elon tried to rally back late in the set at 21-19 but Wofford responded with a 4-1 run to take the set 25-20.
- With the score tied 5-5 in the final set, Wofford went on a 3-0 run from Elon attacking errors to gain a lead they would keep for the rest of the set. Unfortunately, the Phoenix could not overcome the deficit as the Terriers closed the match 25-17.

FROM COACH MARY TENDLER
"I liked the way we competed against a good, experienced team on the road today. We set the tone early with some strong serving. We got better defensively as the match went along. We need to do a better job finishing sets strong, especially on the offensive side."
