ELON, N.C. — The Elon women's basketball team (5-12, 1-3) will head on its first full CAA away weekend as they travel north to play Monmouth (9-5, 2-1) on Friday, Jan. 19, and Hofstra (7-7,1-2) Sunday, Jan. 21. Game time for Friday is scheduled for 12 p.m. at OceanFirst Bank Center while Sunday's home tip is slated for 2 p.m. inside David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

200 CAREER WINS FOR COACH SMITH
- Following Elon's victory over Campbell, head coach Charlotte Smith reached 200 wins during her time in the maroon & gold.
- Coach Smith becomes the second Elon Basketball coach to win 200 or more games with the Phoenix.

- On Wednesday, Jan. 10, the Elon women's basketball Instagram account exceeded 100,000 followers, surpassing Duke women's basketball.
- The Elon women's basketball Instagram account now stands as the most followed women's basketball team account in the state of N.C.
- The only two teams to beat the Phoenix program in followers are UNC men's basketball and Duke men's basketball.
- The account is now ranked within the top 10 most followed women's basketball team accounts in the nation, joining the likes of Iowa, South Carolina, UCONN and LSU.
SERIES HISTORY VS. MONMOUTH, HOFSTRA
- Elon and Monmouth will face off for just the third time in the all-time series. The series is tied at 1-1.
- The two teams met twice last season in CAA play where the Phoenix fell on the road in their first meeting 64-56 before winning at home in their most recent matchup on Feb. 17, 2023, 57-48.
- Elon holds a 14-4 advantage over Hofstra in the all-time series dating back to the 2014-15 season.
- The Phoenix is 6-2 on the road against the Pride but lost the most recent road matchup on Jan. 6, 2023, 46-42. Prior to the loss, Elon had won five straight games in the all-time series.
LAST TIME OUT
- The maroon and gold split last weekend in CAA play, winning at Campbell 45-44 before falling to William & Mary 62-43.
- Against the Tribe, Iycez Adams recorded her third career double-double, netting 13 points and grabbing 10 boards.
- Ajia James got hot in the third quarter going 3-for-4 from the field including two from beyond the arc.
- Pass led the Phoenix in assists with four while Adams paced the team in blocks with three.
- Both Elon and William & Mary committed 20 or more turnovers in today's contest.
- The Phoenix have yet to allow more than 65 points in conference play.
- Elon outnumbered William & Mary in steals (11-10) with Jessica Booth and Pass sharing the team lead with three apiece.
- This was Elon's third consecutive game grabbing double-digit steals.
- Elon continues to push defensively by allowing just 55.3 points per game in conference play.
EDUCATION DAY RETURNS
- The Elon women's basketball team will welcome local elementary school students to campus again this season for a fun-filled Education Day matinee.
- The game this year will be against Northeastern on Feb. 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Schar Center. This marks the second time that Elon held an Education Day since Jan. 27, 2011.
- Last year the program welcomed more than 2,400 elementary school students from 10 Alamance-Burlington School System schools as well as Burlington Christian Academy and The Burlington School. Overall, 3,087 fans attended the game, marking the largest crowd in Elon's Division I era. This was also the largest crowd recorded by the conference last season which helped Elon land second in total attendance with 25,859.
SCOUTING MONMOUTH
- Monmouth is off to a 9-5 start, including a 2-1, mark in CAA play after a 75-62 win at College of Charleston on Sunday. The Hawks opened CAA play falling against William & Mary 70-66 before defeating Campbell 49-47.
- The Hawks went 18-16 and 9-9 in league play last season finishing seventh in the CAA and going onto win four straight games to clench the conference tournament title.
- Monmouth was picked to finish sixth in the 2023-24 CAA Preseason Poll with Ariana Vanderhoop named to the CAA Preseason Honorable Mention team.
- Kaci Donovan is the only Hawks player averaging double figures with 14.1 points per game, ranking tied for 11th in the league.
- Belle Kranbuhl paces Monmouth on the glass averaging 7.6 rebounds per game followed by Taisha Exanor with 5.3 boards per game. The two also lead the team in steals.
- Kranbuhl is currently leading the conference in blocked shots (34) and blocked shots per game (2.4).
- Ginny Boggess is in her third season at the helm of the Monmouth program. In her first season with the Hawks, she led the team to the largest turnaround in program history from one year to the next in both overall and conference victories.
SCOUTING HOFSTRA
- Hofstra sits with a 7-7 record on the season and is 1-2 in league play after losing 66-53 at Northeastern on Sunday, Jan. 14.
- The Pride finished the 2022-23 campaign with an overall record of 12-20 going 4-14 in conference play to finish 12th.
- Hofstra was picked to finish 12th in the 2023-24 CAA Preseason Poll.
- Sophomore guard Emma Von Essen leads the team with 13.8 points per game shooting 40.3% (71-for-176) from the field so far this season. She leads the conference in three-point field goals per game with 3.1.
- Zyheima Swint paces the Pride and ranks second in the CAA in boards per game at 8.8. Swint grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds earlier this season against Wagner. Swint also leads the team in blocks (15) and blocks per game (1.3).
- Ally Knights has a team-high 4.4 assists per game ranking tied for third in the CAA and ranks at the top in assist-turnover ratios at 2.2.
- As a team, the Pride rank second in the league in both steals per game (9.07) and offensive rebounds per game (15.1).
- Danielle Santos Atkinson is entering her fifth season leading the Hofstra women's basketball program.
