Volleyball At Home Against Campbell This Weekend

ELON, N.C. – The Elon University volleyball team (10-7, 4-2 CAA) returns to Schar Center for a home series on Saturday and Sunday against in-state foe Campbell. Saturday's match is Girl Scout Day and will begin at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday's Camper Reunion Day match will start at 3:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

The Phoenix went 2-0 against Hampton last weekend improving to 4-0 on the road in CAA play, recording their best road start in CAA play in program history.
Cameron Lanier led the team with 21 kills on the weekend while Sydney Love followed with 17.
Annabelle Schall recorded 20 or more assists in both games to pace the team while adding eight digs and four aces.
On Saturday, Caroline Berlekamp and Catherine Rucker tallied a team-high four blocks each while Love added three.
On Sunday, Rucker matched her career-high in blocks with five to lead the team alongside Love.
In Sunday's sweep, Elon outnumbered Hampton across the board in kills (41-26), aces (7-4), blocks (10-1), assists (38-25), and digs (44-38).

PHOENIX FACTS

Sydney Love ranks seventh in the conference in kills per set at 3.23 while Cameron Lanier is eighth with 3.02 kills per set.
Annabelle Schall is fifth in the CAA in aces per set (0.44) while also ranking No. 6 in assists (352) and assists per set (5.77).
Caroline Berlekamp is second on the team and ranks third in the conference in hitting percentage at .348. She also paces the team with 53 blocks this season.
Caroline Doyle leads the team with 3.73 digs per set and ranks seventh in the league in digs with 231.
Elon is second in the CAA in aces with 100 and ranks No. 4 in hitting percentage at .215.

THE SERIES

Campbell holds a 12-4 edge over the Phoenix in the all-time series.
The team's last matchup was on August 27, 2016, where the Phoenix won in five sets.

SCOUTING CAMPBELL

Campbell is 2-14 overall this season and 0-6 in CAA play after falling in both matches last weekend against Hofstra.
Last season, the Lady Camels went 17-13 and were picked to finish fourth in the 2024 CAA Preseason Poll, with one first-place vote.
Gwen Wolkow was named to the 2024 Preseason All-CAA team and leads the team in kills (110), averaging 2.75 kills per set.
Riley Dean leads the Lady Camels defense with 206 digs while posting a team-high 18 aces.
Maddie Converse and Ashley Artura pace the team with over 200 assists on the season.
At the net, junior middle blocker Aley Clent leads Campbell with 39 blocks averaging 0.64 blocks per set.
Greg Goral is in his 12th season at the helm of the Campbell volleyball program and is the longest-tenured and winningest coach in program history.

UP NEXT

The maroon and gold hit the road for a weekend series against Stony Brook on October 19-20. Both matches against the Seawolves are set to start at noon.
