Volleyball Heads North For Road Series Against Stony Brook

ELON, N.C. – The Elon University volleyball team (11-8, 5-3 CAA) travels to Stony Brook (11-7, 4-4 CAA) for a weekend series on Saturday and Sunday. Both matches at Pritchard Gymnasium are slated to start at noon.

LAST TIME OUT

The Phoenix split the series last weekend with Campbell, falling in a five-set thriller on Oct. 12 before sweeping the Lady Camels on Oct. 13.
Sydney Love and Cameron Lanier each led the team with 23 kills on the weekend.
Annabelle Schall recorded double-doubles in both performances with 10 digs and 20 assists on Saturday, and 21 assists and 13 digs on Sunday. Schall also led the team in aces with seven.
On Saturday, Caroline Doyle led the team with 20 digs, her third match this season with 20 or more digs.
Caroline Berlekamp tallied a career-high seven blocks on Saturday followed by four on Sunday.

PHOENIX FACTS

Annabelle Schall leads the conference in total aces with 34, which ranks 15th in the NCAA. She is also third in the league in aces per set (0.49) and sixth in assists per set (5.70).
Sydney Love ranks eighth in the conference in kills per set at 3.19 while Cameron Lanier is ninth with 3.00. Lanier also ranks No. 7 in the CAA in hitting percentage at .272.
Caroline Berlekamp is second on the team and in the conference in hitting percentage at .335. She also paces the team with 64 blocks this season.
Caroline Doyle leads the team with 3.76 digs per set and ranks seventh in the league in digs with 263.
Elon is second in the CAA in aces with 118 and ranks No. 4 in hitting percentage at .215.

THE SERIES

The all-time series between Elon and Stony Brook is tied 1-1.
The team's last series matchup was November 12-13, 2022, where Elon swept the Seawolves before falling in five sets.

SCOUTING STONY BROOK

Stony Brook is 11-7 overall this season and 4-4 in CAA play after splitting with North Carolina A&T last weekend.
Last season, the Seawolves went 17-14 and were picked to finish fifth in the 2024 CAA Preseason Poll.
Torri Henry and Leoni Kunz were named to the 2024 Preseason All-CAA team.
Henry leads the team and conference in assists with 757, averaging 9.83 assists per set which ranks second in the CAA. Henry also has a team-high 27 aces.
Kunz is second on the team in kills with 222 on the season, averaging 2.88 per set.
At the net, Mercedes Motton leads Stony Brooke with 73 blocks, ranking fifth in the league with 1.11 blocks per set.
Julia Patsos leads the Seawolves defense with 315 digs.
Kristin Belzung is in her eighth season at the helm of the Stony Brook volleyball program.

UP NEXT

The maroon and gold return home to Schar Center on October 26-27 for a weekend series against Towson. Both matches against the Tigers will begin at 2:00 p.m.
