The Aggies responded with a 7-1 run to take their first lead of the set at 14-12. With the score 17-14 in favor of the Aggies, Elon went on a 4-1 run capped by a Sydney Love kill that tied the score at 18-18. Again, the teams traded points before Elon took a timeout trailing 22-20. Out of the break, a North Carolina A&T error and Clara LaRue ace knotted the score at 22-22. The Aggies responded eventually knotting the score at 11-11. The teams traded points before a Sydney Love kill put Elon on top 18-16. From there, a 4-0 Aggies run gave them the lead at 20-18, which later turned into a three-point lead and set point at 24-21. Elon saved three set points thanks to a LaRue kill, an opponent error, and a kill from Love to tie the score at 24-24 and force an Aggies timeout. Out of the break, North Carolina A&T again earned set point at 25-24, but three straight Elon points capped by a Johnson kill sealed set three for the Phoenix, 27-25.
