The match began at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center before steady rainfall forced the contest to be moved indoors. Elon clinched the victory by putting the finishing touches on three singles wins indoors at the Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion in Greensboro.

With the victory, Elon has now won four matches in a row to improve to 5-4 on the season. Hampton drops to 4-2 with the loss.

THE RUNDOWN
  • Elon won its fifth straight doubles point with victories at the Nos. 1 and 2 spots.
  • Reigning CAA Doubles Team of the Week Madison Cordisco and Mariana Reding picked up Elon's first win of the day with a 6-3 result on Court 2. The pairing has won five matches in a row and is 6-2 together this season.
  • Sibel Tanik and Lizette Reding secured the doubles point with a 6-2 victory at the No. 1 spot. It was their 28th win together and fourth this season.
  • With all six singles matches in the second set, steady rain forced the match to be delayed. The conclusion of singles was moved to Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion in Greensboro.
  • Needing to win just one game at Simkins Indoor to finish off a victory, Mariana Reding did just that for her first ever win at the No. 3 spot. The freshman won 6-2, 7-5 against Hampton's Diana Starodubtseva for her team-best sixth victory this season. She has now won singles contests at the Nos. 2, 3 and 5 positions this season.
  • Tanik raced out to a 6-1, 4-3 lead on Court 1 against Mio Kozaki before the match was moved indoors. She won two games played at Simkins indoor to win 6-1, 6-3. The win was the 43rd of the senior's career, as she is now tied for 14th on Elon's Division I singles win list with Victoria Saldh and Briana Berne, and just one win behind doubles partner Lizette Reding
  • Freshman Ella Suk led Lucia Jorrin Fernandez 6-4, 4-1 at the No. 4 singles spot when the match was halted due to rain. At Simkins Indoor, Suk won two of three games to clinch the match for the Phoenix. Suk is now 2-0 playing No. 4 singles this season.
  • Lizette Reding was two points from victory at Simkins Indoor when her match against Meiri Okuwaki was abandoned following Suk's win. Reding led 6-3, 5-1 and was at 30-15 in the seventh game of the second set.
  • In a match that was not resumed at Simkins Indoor, Simone Bergeron was one game away from a win at the No. 6 spot against Masa Mitic. The freshman led 6-3, 5-2 when the contest was stopped by the rain.
  • In the other singles match that went unfinished, Hampton's Sofia Sokolova led Helen Sarikulaya 6-2, 4-3 at the No. 5 position.
