Elon finishes its season at 14-10 with the defeat. Drexel improved to 12-7 with the win and will face No. 1 seed Delaware in Saturday's semifinals.

THE RUNDOWN
  • The Dragons won at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to go ahead 1-0. They also led 5-3 on Court 1 when that match was abandoned.
  • Drexel carried its momentum into singles, winning the first two matches to finish in straight sets to go ahead 3-0.
  • Simone Bergeron posted Elon's first point of the day with a 7-6 (4), 6-3 win at No. 6 singles against Drexel's Adva Dabah. It was the freshman's 12th win of the season and her second at the CAA Tournament.
  • The final three matches to finish all went to deciding sets.
  • On Court 3, freshman Mariana Reding recovered after losing the opening set to defeat Renata Lombera 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. Mariana trailed by a break in the final set but broke back in the sixth game to level the frame at 3-3. With the score at 5-4, Mariana broke serve in the final game to secure a big point for the Phoenix.
  • While Mariana was completing her comeback, her older sister Lizette was locked in a three-set battle of her own on Court 1. Lizette split the opening two sets with Drexel's Lorie Lemongo but trailed 4-1 in the final frame. After holding for 4-2, Lizette took the next game to deuce and had a chance to get the match back on serve. However, Lemongo won the point and then successfully broke at love in the next game to clinch the match.
  • With the Reding sisters battling on Courts 1 and 3, Helen Sarikulaya was also in a final set on Court 4. She fell behind 3-0 against Isabel Cabrerizo in the third but worked her way back to 4-4 when the match was halted.
  • The loss was Elon's first to Drexel in five tries. This was the first time since joining the CAA the Phoenix has not advanced to at least the semifinals of the conference tournament.
