The Phoenix won two matches in full final sets and another in a match tiebreak. Elon also forced another match into a third set that Liberty won.

With the loss, Elon dropped to 12-7 on the season. The nationally ranked Flames improved to 16-6 with the win.

THE RUNDOWN
  • Liberty took the doubles point with a pair of 6-3 victories on Courts 1 and 3. At the No. 2 spot, Dylan Heap and Veljko Krstic were tied at 4-4 when their match was abandoned.
  • The Flames picked up straight set wins at the Nos. 3 and 6 singles spots to take a 3-0 advantage.
  • The final four singles contests to finish all went to a decisive set. Elon forced a third set after dropping the first at the Nos. 1, 2 and 4 positions.
  • Playing the No. 2 spot for the third straight match and fourth time in his career, Oskar Antinheimo bounced back from a first set loss to force a final frame. However, the sophomore came up short, losing to Liberty's Luis Felipe Miguel 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. The point secured a Flames victory.
  • Elon continued to fight until the end of the match. On Court 1, Veljko Krstic battled back from losing the first set to defeat Rafael Marques Da Silva, who checked in at No. 102 in this week's ITA rankings, by a 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 score. It was Krstic's 11th victory of the season and his seventh at the No. 1 spot. He has now won back-to-back matches from a set down, as he also flipped his contest on April 4 against Charlotte after dropping the opening set. Four of Krstic's 11 wins this season have come in either a full final set or a match tiebreak.
  • On Court 5, Heap took the first set against Rodrigo Santiago Arraez but was forced into a match tiebreak. Heap went on to win the match tiebreak 10-5 to secure Elon's second victory of the day. It was Heap's sixth victory of the campaign, five of which have come at the No. 5 position. The win was his first with the Phoenix to come in either a match tiebreak or full final set.
  • In the final match to finish, Jack Curtis rallied to win a grueling three-set battle on Court 4. The freshman dropped the first set against Thando Longwe-Smit 7-5 but answered with a 6-3 triumph in the second set. Because the second set was completed before Liberty secured the winning point, a full final set was contested. The frame extended into a tiebreak, which Curtis captured 8-6 for his team-best 13th singles win of the season. The win was the first of his career at the No. 4 spot as he became the first Elon player this season to win a match at four different singles positions. It was his fourth victory in either a match tiebreak or full third set on the season.
  • This was Elon's third consecutive match to finish with a 4-3 score, two of which came against ITA ranked opponents in William & Mary and Liberty. The other was against Charlotte, who was ranked in the previous week's ITA rankings.
  • The loss snapped a three-match road winning streak for the maroon and gold.
