Elon Men's Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's soccer team and head coach Marc Reeves announced the program's 2024 fall schedule on (Date TBD). The Phoenix's 20-game slate will feature 12 home matches at Rudd Field and four contests versus teams that made the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

"We have put together another very strong schedule and are excited to see our group compete this fall," said Reeves. "We play some top teams out of conference and the CAA will again be a challenging league with great programs, coaches and players. We had a solid spring semester and believe our returning core group of players have the experience for it to be a successful season. Our new additions will need to adapt quickly as they look to impact in a positive way."

Elon begins the fall campaign with exhibition friendlies at home versus Cape Fear on Aug. 9, at NC State on Aug. 13 and at home versus VCU on Aug. 17. The regular season starts on Thursday, Aug. 22 versus Florida Gulf Coast at Rudd Field before another home matchup against Radford on Aug. 26 awaits the Phoenix before the month closes out at Coastal Carolina on Aug. 29.

The Phoenix opens the month of September hosting Grand Canyon on Sept. 2 before beginning CAA play versus Drexel on Sept. 7 at Rudd Field. The Dragons are coming off a 9-2-5 overall ledger last fall while reaching the quarterfinal round in the CAA Tournament.

A week later, Elon begins a two-match road swing, the first to Delaware for a meeting versus the Blue Hens on Sept. 14 in another league match. A few days later, the Phoenix travels to Winston-Salem, N.C., for a contest at Wake Forest, the first of its four matches against 2023 College Cup participants on the schedule. This will be the first meeting between the maroon and gold and the Demon Deacons since 2017 and its first at Winston-Salem since earning a 1-0 in over the then-seventh ranked Demon Deacons in 2015.

Elon returns to the home confines of its home pitch on Sept. 21, hosting Stony Brook. The Phoenix eliminated the Seawolves in the quarterfinal round at last year's CAA Championships. A trek to Hofstra comes next for the maroon and gold on Sept. 28 as the Phoenix square off against the reigning CAA co-regular season and tournament champion.

Three straight home games open the start of October for the Phoenix with fellow Piedmont Triad rival and 2023 NCAA Tournament team High Point coming to Elon on Oct. 1. William & Mary makes a trip to North Carolina on Oct. 5 before the three-game homestand ends with a contest against ACC foe Duke, who will be the fourth and final team that the Phoenix will face that made the 2023 NCAA Tournament on its schedule.

A pair of road games is next on the docket for the Phoenix with Elon traveling down I-40 for a contest at UNCG on Oct. 15. The two-game road trip ends with a visit to Monmouth for a CAA semifinals rematch against the Hawks on Oct. 19.

October ends with two straight games at Rudd Field as Elon hosts intrastate foe Charlotte on Oct. 23 to close out its nonconference slate. Northeastern will face the Phoenix on Oct. 26 for its home finale before Elon travels to Campbell for the regular season finale on Nov. 2.
