ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's and women's soccer teams still remain unbeaten as the two picked up a pair of conference victories over the weekend.

This week, conference play rolls on for both of the Elon soccer programs and will officially begin for the football team in its contest against Richmond.

Each Monday, Rising Phoenix will preview the week ahead in Elon athletics. Here is a look at each Elon team competing this week.

Women's Golf
After rain ended the Elon Invitational early, the Elon University women's golf team will be back on the course in Asheboro, North Carolina for the Tot Hill Farm Invitational. The College of Charleston will host for two rounds played Monday, Sept. 23 to Tuesday, Sept. 24. After the first day of play in the Elon Invitational, the Phoenix was tied for second as a team and junior Ashley Lafontaine was tied for third with 3-over par.

Women's Soccer
To begin conference play, the Elon University women's soccer team traveled to Boston to face the Northeastern Huskies and earned its first 2024 conference victory 2-1. Sophomore midfielder Gabby Hoschek continued her success on the road, scoring her third goal of the season and her third goal on the road. Redshirt sophomore midfielder Ava Hellner scored the game-winner for the Phoenix, which also marked the first goal of her collegiate career. Freshman goalkeeper Katie Bisgrove also earned CAA Rookie of the Week following the win. Elon will be back in action at Rudd Field for two conference matches this week as the Phoenix faces Stony Brook at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 and Hampton at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29.

Men's Tennis
For the first time this fall, the Elon University men's tennis team will be competing. The Phoenix will head to Lynchburg, Virginia to play in the Liberty Dual Tournament from Friday, Sept. 27 to Sunday, Sept. 29. Elon had immense success in 2024, going 16-8 in the regular season and falling to No. 1 seeded UNC Wilmington in the finals of the CAA Championship. Under new head coach Maciek Sykut, the Phoenix will look toward juniors Oskar Antinheimo and Veljko Krstic to lead the way.

Men's Soccer
Ranked No. 14 nationally, the Elon University men's soccer team earned a draw on the road against Wake Forest and defeated Stony Brook 2-1 at home for its third consecutive conference victory. Junior midfielder Colin Veltri scored the lone Phoenix goal against the Demon Deacons, which marks his sixth goal of the season. Seniors Scott Vatne and Charlie Kitch scored in the victory over the Seawolves for their fifth and second goals of the season, respectively. Vatne was also named CAA Offensive Player of the Week following the win. The Phoenix currently sits atop the CAA standings and will face the Hofstra Pride in Hempstead, New York on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m.

Football
The Elon University football team is set to begin conference play, hosting Richmond on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. for Family Weekend. Against ETSU, redshirt senior wide receiver Chandler Brayboy caught the thirteenth touchdown pass of his career. Brayboy is now tied for fifth place in Elon's all time receiving touchdown list.
