]ELON, N.C. – The Elon Athletics community set a new record by coming together to raise more than $730,000 in support of Elon student-athletes for the 12^th annual Elon Day, Elon University's Annual Day of Giving, on Thursday, March 6.
 
Elon alumni, former student-athletes, parents, fans and staff participated in various challenges and initiatives throughout the day, contributing to an impressive total of 1,192 gifts to support the holistic development of our student-athletes, including enhancements in technology, nutrition, sport performance, global opportunities and many other areas to drive academic and completive excellence. Support poured in from across 38 states and four countries, demonstrating the far-reaching impact of the Elon community.
 
The support for Elon Athletics ran across all sport programs, supported key elements of our vision and plan, included challenges across sport programs and a challenge in women's athletics. Additionally, over 370 former Elon student-athletes – representing every sport - stepped up to give back, while 267 parents of current student-athletes made contributions in support of our student-athletes.

"It's truly inspiring to witness our community unite in record-breaking numbers to invest in the success of our student-athletes. The impact of these contributions will be felt across every facet of Elon Athletics, directly enriching the lives of our student-athletes. Your commitment and belief in Elon Athletics creates the strong foundation that enables our student-athletes to thrive on the fields, in the classroom and, ultimately, in their lives beyond their time at Elon."
 
University-wide, this year's Elon Day set a new record with 6,385 gifts worldwide while raising more than $3.1 million. Elon Athletics' 1,192 gifts were the most across any department within the institution. Since Elon Day's inception in 2014, over 57,000 gifts have been made, generating over $25 million to support academics, athletics and the student experience at Elon.
