Buies Creek, N.C. – The Elon University men's tennis team emerged victorious in a tightly contested match against Campbell on Sunday, securing a 4-3 win behind a strong doubles performance and clutch singles play.

The Phoenix (3-5) struck first by securing the crucial doubles point, winning two of the three matches. 

The team of Veljko Krstic and Oskar Antinheimo delivered a 6-3 win over Campbell's Thomas Drapeau and Matias Lofink to get Elon off to a strong start. Jack Curtis and Rafael Ymer followed with a 7-5 victory against Adi Dagan and Aleksandar Hudjec, clinching the doubles point for Elon. The Camels (4-8) salvaged a win on Court 3, as Luke Tollenaar and Alex Fragasso edged Charles Pilet and Juan Sengariz in a tiebreak, 7-6 (2).

In singles, Krstic cruised past Thomas Drapeau 7-6 (0), 6-1, while Sengariz added a 6-2, 6-4 win. Campbell responded with wins on Courts 3, 4, and 5, tying the match at 3-3. With the result on the line, Ymer rallied for a 6-7 (2), 7-5, 6-2 victory, clinching the win for Elon.

With the victory, Elon has now won two straight and three of its last four contests. The Phoenix will host Bucknell Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
