ELON, N.C. - The 2024-25 academic year was competitively one of the best in Elon Athletics department history and will also go down as one of the strongest fundraising years ever!
In a year that saw Elon claim five conference titles—four of which were won over a remarkable four-week span—the Phoenix Club, Elon Athletics' fundraising arm, generated more than $2.3 million in annual operating support. This milestone marked the first time in university history that Elon surpassed the $2 million threshold. In total, more than 2,500 donors—including alumni, parents and friends of Elon University—contributed nearly $6 million in support across the department. These contributions made a lasting impact through unrestricted funds, sport-specific initiatives, capital projects and endowments.
The new fundraising strategy introduced during the 2024–25 academic year led to a 65% increase in operating support, a 52% increase in total cash received and a 34% increase in overall fundraising production.
"As the landscape of college athletics continues to evolve, we adjusted our fundraising approach to create an environment that better enables our donors to support the areas of our department that align most closely with their philanthropic passions," said Elon Director of Athletics
Jennifer Strawley. "This new strategy, combined with the incredible enthusiasm of our athletics community in supporting our student-athletes, has positioned us for long-term success."
