Neither team found the scoresheet in a physical contest that featured 30 combined fouls. Jackson Leavitt made his third career start in goal for the Phoenix and recorded the first full shutout of his Elon tenure.

How It Happened
  • Jordin Wilson attempted Elon's first shot of the 2025 season in the fourth minute, firing the ball high and over the goal. The Monarchs took the next four shots before Elon's first effort on target by Einar Ness in the 25th minute.
  • Leavitt made his first save of the contest in the 31st minute on an Old Dominion header. The Monarchs attempted one more shot before the intermission, but the teams entered the locker room tied, 0-0.
  • In the 65th minute, Jahmir Flowers rolled a shot on goal that was handled by Old Dominion goalkeeper Michael Statham. Wilson had another chance on a break down the left win in the 72nd minute but fired an attempt high and left.
  • Elon had two of its best scoring chances of the night in quick succession in the closing moments. In the 85th minute, Colin Veltri took a shot from just outside the box that forced Statham to make a diving save. Shortly after, Connor Mucchetti sent a shot toward the goal that just missed bottom left.
  • Martin Kozak accounted for the game's final shot in the 89th minute as the contest finished in a scoreless tie.
