COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Elon men's tennis team completed day one at ITA Carolina Regionals on Thursday, with three Phoenix competing in the qualifying singles draw at the Carolina Tennis Center.
Nikola Parichkov won his opening round match 7-6 (7), 6-0 against Ram Mude of College of Charleston to highlight Elon's day. The junior fell in the final qualifying round to UNCW's Noah Zeiger.
Elon continues play tomorrow at ITA Carolina Regionals in the main draw for both singles and doubles.
Jack Curtis kicks off his singles campaign at 10:30 a.m. against Charlotte's Andres Medus.
In doubles, Parichkov and
Charles Pilet will face Moritz Muenster and William Freshwater from Charlotte in the first round of doubles at 2:30 p.m. At 3:30, Curtis and
Nick Fisk will take on Jip Mens and Adam Duda from UNC Asheville in their opening round match.
