WASHINGTON, D.C. – Elon graduate forward
Chandler Cuthrell was named to the All-CAA Second Team, as the conference announced its 2025-26 men's basketball awards Friday morning ahead of the 2026 Air Force Reserve CAA Championship.
Voting for the 2025-26 All-CAA teams and award winners was conducted in a poll of the CAA's 13 head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season (note: coaches cannot vote for their own players).
The full list of All-CAA honorees can be viewed on CAASports.com.
Cuthrell was the centerpiece of Elon's offense all season, ranking among the nation's leading scorers at 20.0 points per game (32nd nationally, second in the CAA). He is one of just seven Division I players to average at least 20.0 PPG and 6.5 rebounds per game this season. The 6-foot-8 forward scored 20-plus points 17 times during the regular season and totaled 619 points, which currently ranks ninth on Elon's all-time single-season scoring list.
Though a steady scorer at all levels, Cuthrell has been especially effective at getting to the free throw line, where he has converted 184 of 253 attempts (72.7%), including 34 of his past 36 (88.9%). He ended the regular season with five double-doubles and ranks among the CAA's best in field-goal percentage (4th, 48.7%), total field goals (2nd, 204) and rebounds per game (9th, 6.5).
Cuthrell, who grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, and hails from Baltimore, Maryland, arrived at Elon last offseason with a Division I career scoring average of 6.1 points per game across two seasons at UTSA and Purdue Fort Wayne.
Cuthrell and the 11th-seeded Phoenix will face No. 6 seed William & Mary in the second round of the 2026 Air Force Reserve CAA Championship at 8:30 p.m. ET Saturday at CareFirst Arena.
