Anderson on Sessoms: Lauren is a tenacious competitor who works very hard for every point. This fall, she worked on incorporating more offense into her game. Combining that with her quickness and consistency on the court make her a very strong competitor.
Fall 2009: Teamed with Hayley Wahl for two doubles victories at the Hokie Invitational •
2008-09: Won final three singles matches, including a 7-5, 6-2 decision over UNCG’s Britney Cloer in the SoCon Tournament quarterfinals • opened the season on a four-match winning streak • first career conference win came against Wofford in a 6-0, 6-2 result versus Betsy Hauer • paired with three different teammates for a 3-3 doubles mark • posted a 3-0 record in singles play at the Elon Fall Invitational in addition to earning two doubles victories • posted a singles win at the William & Mary Invitational • collected two wins with Jessica Margolis at the Cary doubles tournament.
Prep: Ranked as high as No. 5 in the state of North Carolina, No. 37 in the Southern Region and No. 167 in the nation • played two years of high school tennis, earning team captain, MVP, all-conference and all-state accolades in each year • achieved conference player of the year status in 2006.
