Damian Wroblewski was named the Phoenix’s offensive line coach in January 2014.

Wroblewski’s line paved the way for the Elon offense to rush for an average of 164.5 yards per game, an increase of nearly 40 yards per game from the 2016 season. The team rushed for 100 or more yards in 10 of its 12 games and twice eclipsed the 200-yard rushing mark. The unit produced two all-league performers in 2017 and Ikenna Nwokeji signed a rookie free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In 2016, Elon’s top two backs were able to rush for more than 1,000 yards combined behind a consistent offensive line. That group of linemen helped the Phoenix rank second in CAA Football with only 12 sacks allowed.

Wroblewski tutored one of the youngest lines in the nation in 2015 as Elon’s starting front five featured two true freshmen and a red-shirt freshman.

In 2014, Wroblewski’s offensive line allowed running back Tracey Coppedge to run for 663 yards, the highest rushing total by an Elon player since 2009.

Wroblewski came to Elon following a two-year stint as the offensive line coach at Rutgers. In his first season with the Scarlet Knights, Wroblewski’s unit helped the team rush for 100 or more yards in eight outings and allowed just eight sacks all season, the eighth-best mark in the nation. That year, Rutgers claimed a share of the Big East Conference title and appeared in the Russell Sports Bowl. The 2013 offense ran for 100 or more yards seven times, passing 200 yards twice on the ground. In two seasons, Wroblewski’s line saw two players earn all-conference accolades. The Rutgers offense saw two of its players selected in the 2013 NFL Draft – running back Juwan Jamison and tight end D.C. Jefferson. While there, Wroblewski also mentored NFL lineman Kaleb Johnson.

Before heading to Rutgers, Wroblewski spent five seasons as the offensive line coach at the University of Delaware where he also was the assistant head coach for four years. While at Delaware, he served as the recruiting coordinator and the run game coordinator.

His work with the offense in 2010 helped UD to a 12-3 record, a share of the CAA Football title and a trip to the national title game. In 2010 the Blue Hens led the league in first downs and pass efficiency while ranking second in scoring offense, rushing offense and total offense. In that year, running back Andrew Pierce, a two-time all-conference performer and an All-American, amassed 1,655 rushing yards to lead the league. The Blue Hens also reached the national title game in 2007. That season, All-American running back Omar Cuff rushed for a league-high 1,945 yards. With quarterback Joe Flacco, Delaware’s offense led the conference in scoring offense, passing offense and total offense in 2007.

At Delaware, Wroblewski mentored three All-Americans, including center Kheon Hendricks, and worked with future NFL linemen Gino Gradkowski, Mike Byrne and Shea Allard. The offense churned out three 1,000-yard rushers.

Wroblewski began his coaching career at Bryant College, serving as the offensive coordinator, offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator. He has also spent time at the University of Pennsylvania, Hofstra University and Stony Brook University.

During his stint at Penn, the Quakers won back-to-back Ivy League titles and posted a 19-1 record. In his time at Hofstra, Wroblewski mentored NFL offensive lineman Willie Colon who won a Super Bowl title with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

A four-year member of the Lafayette College football team as a center, Wroblewski was a two-time All-Patriot League selection and earned the team’s Stony Jones Award as the team MVP as a senior. He earned his degree in history in 1999.

Wroblewski and his wife, Kara, have one son, Damian, Jr.
