Brad Hastings enters his second season as an assistant golf coach with the Elon men’s golf program.
For the last two and a half years before coming to Elon, Hastings served as a PGA assistant professional and lead instructor at The Club at The Strand in Naples, Fla. Prior to his stint in Naples, he served as the men's assistant golf coach at the University of Maryland from 2018-20. In his first two years at Maryland, they had seven top-5 finishes where he coached two All-Big Ten conference players and two GCAA All-Region players, including current Korn Ferry Tour player Peter Knade.
Hastings played professionally on PGA Tour Canada in 2003. He won the Maryland State Amateur Championship twice - in 1999 at Woodmont Country Club and in 2007 at Columbia Country Club. He has competed in six USGA events, including the U.S. Amateur, U.S. Amateur Public Links and represented Maryland in 2007 at the USGA State team matches.
Hastings played for Coastal Carolina University from 1996-2000, where he was a four-time First Team All-Big South honoree. He was named the 1999 Big South Conference Player of the Year and selected to the Big South Conference 1990s All-Decade Team. In 2005, Hastings was inducted into Coastal Carolina University Athletic Hall of Fame.
Hastings lives in Burlington with his wife, Tracey, and daughter Addison.
